Why do I need 12 testers?
Google Play requires new personal developer accounts to run a closed test with at least 12 testers for 14 consecutive days before publishing to production. This is a Google requirement, not a PlayTesterHub one.
How does closed testing work?
You create a closed test in your Google Play Console, then share an opt-in link with your testers. They install the testing version of your app and use it like a normal app.
How long do testers need to participate?
Google requires at least 12 active testers for 14 consecutive days. Testers must stay opted in and use the app during that period.
Who runs the tests?
The PlayTesterHub team, on 12 physical Android devices managed in-house, in France. Each device joins your closed test with a Google account. No bots, no emulators.
Which devices is my app tested on?
On 12 physical Android devices, in France. Tested on real Android devices from a range of brands: Samsung, Xiaomi, Huawei, Google Pixel, OnePlus. In your dashboard you see, for each one, whether the app is installed, whether it was opened today and our team's last action.
Which countries are your testers in?
France only. France must therefore be selected under "Countries/regions" for your closed testing track in Google Play Console, otherwise our testers won't be able to install your app.
How soon does testing start?
Our team works around the clock in three 8-hour shifts, backed by our AI agents: your test starts in under 8 hours after you add the group and confirm, even at night or on weekends. The clock starts when you confirm in your dashboard, not at payment. Google then requires 14 consecutive days of testing with at least 12 opted-in testers.
What is the opt-in link and where do I find it?
The opt-in link is mandatory: without it, our testers cannot join your closed test. In Google Play Console, go to Test and release > Testing > Closed testing > Manage track, then open the Testers tab and copy the "Join on the web" link (it starts with https://play.google.com/apps/testing/…). Labels may vary slightly with the Play Console version. Enter it in your dashboard, or email us at [email protected].
I published a new version during the test: what should I do?
Publish the update in your closed test (Play Console), then click “Roll out to my 12 testers” in your dashboard. Google Play delivers updates to testers with a delay, so we install it ourselves on each phone, and you follow the rollout (for example 9/12). Your testers stay enrolled and the 14 days keep counting.
What happens if a tester opts out?
We replace them: we keep 12 testers opted in for the full 14 days of the closed test.
How much does it cost?
A full campaign costs €15 (Standard), €25 (Premium) or €40 (Premium+). Pricing is flat, shown before any payment, with no hidden fees.
What are the plans?
Three plans, all with 12 testers for 14 days in France, on our physical Android devices: Standard (€15, closed test tracked in real time from your dashboard, plus occasional tips to improve your app as a bonus), Premium (€25, Standard + performance tests and other checks reviewed every day + a full recap every 3 days (performance, crashes, feedback, advice) + an end-of-test report with advice and recommendations) and Premium+ (€40, Premium + 168 reports: 1 report per device per day, 12 a day for 14 days, ready for your AI agents, + screenshots with descriptions, on top of the final report).
Are screenshots and daily reports included?
Daily per-device reports (12 a day, 168 over the test) and screenshots with descriptions are only included in the Premium+ plan (€40), which also includes the final report. The Premium plan (€25) includes a daily review of performance tests and other checks, a full recap every 3 days (performance, crashes, feedback, advice), then an end-of-test report with advice and recommendations, without screenshots. The Standard plan (€15) includes the closed test and real-time tracking from your dashboard.
My app is paid: what should I do?
Our testers never buy the apps they test: send us 12 Google Play promo codes, one per phone. In Play Console, open Monetize › Promotions › Create promotion › Promo code and create 12 codes (it is free, up to 500 per quarter), then paste them in your dashboard, one per line. You can add or fix them later from your campaign card. Do not make your app free for the test: Google does not let you switch it back to paid afterwards.
My app requires a login: is that OK?
Yes. Provide us with test credentials (a demo account) so our testers can use it.
What if Google asks for more testing?
If, after your campaign, Google denies production access and asks for more testing, we offer one free re-run. Email us at [email protected].

Can my AI agents order and follow my campaign?
Yes. ChatGPT, Claude.ai and Claude Desktop connect to our MCP server in one click (https://playtesterhub.com/api/mcp): you sign in with Google and click “Allow”, no key to copy. For Claude Code, Cursor or your own scripts, create an API key from your dashboard. Your agents follow your campaigns (steps, 12 phones, tips, messages, reports included in your plan) through our REST API or MCP server, and can ask us to roll out a new version. What happens after my campaign?
Once the 14 days of testing with 12 opted-in testers are complete, you apply for production access from Play Console. We stay available for your next campaigns.
Does PlayTesterHub guarantee Google Play approval?
No: we do not guarantee Google's approval. We run your closed test; Google alone controls its requirements, its process, and its approval decisions. We also never post reviews or ratings on the Play Store.
